The Teacher Education Writing Examination

Taking and passing the Teacher Education Writing Exam is required for admission to the Teacher Education Program at Utah State University. The exam is given during the first five weeks of Fall and Spring Semesters (Summer Semester may vary.) It is administered in the YETC (see address and phone information for the YETC at the top of this page) and at selected extension sites throughout Utah. Students may attempt writing exam only ONCE per semester.

The Writing Exam will be offered during following dates:

First five weeks of Spring Semester 2010

You can take the writing examination during YETC business hours. You do not need to make an appointment. You have one hour to take the examination, so be sure to arrive at the YETC at least an hour and a half before closing. You will need to present a picture identification, such as your activity card or driver's license.

For more information, please see the writing examination guidelines.

Now available on all YETC Printers: Double-sided printing (duplexing)!

All the YETC's printers have been upgraded to easily print double-sided. In the print dialog box, just choose 2-sided printing.

As an additional incentive to print double-sided - we'll only charge 10¢ for double-sided prints. You save 2¢ on each double-sided print! Single-sided prints are 6¢ each.

We're sure this is a win-win situation in a year of economic difficulty and budget cuts. We'll save on paper costs, and you'll save on printing costs.

Unfortunately, our maintenance agreement charges us the same amount for color printing, whether single-sided or doubled-sided, so single-sided color prints are 25¢ each, and double-sided are 50¢.

In Windows, you'll need to click the printer options button to get to this option. Please be sure to do that before you print, because you'll get whatever the last person who used the computer set - which could be either single-sided or double-sided printing.

For Macintosh, in the print dialog box, do the following...

Then, in the expanded dialog, click 2-sided printing...

If the two-sided printing check box is not showing (such as in Microsoft Word) - do this instead...

If you're unsure what to do, please feel free to ask one of the YETC employees to help you.
