UNIT GOALS


The students will define "nutrition" and "diet" and understand the importance of a healthy diet as they explore and learn about a basic food pyramid.
 

The students will discover that different cultures eat different types of food.
 

The students will learn the components of a healthy lifestyle including personal hygiene, safety, self-esteem, and exercise.
 

The students will grasp the concept that food originates from farms, not the grocery store, restaurant, or mom's kitchen.
