LEARNING ADVICE

In order to convince the math committee your mathematician deserves a spot in the hall of fame and to receive full points, you need to make sure you include all of the required information.  Below is a rubric in which you will be graded by.  Make sure you include all of the information and meet all of the requirements to receive full points:

·      Two pages, typed, doubled spaced, font size 12, one inch margins.

·      At least two sources used and CITED on a reference page.  If a wed site was used please state the web address on the reference page.

·      Day and year of birth and death

·      Educational background

·      Major influence on math and role they had

·      Unique event or interesting fact about your mathematician

·      Correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation

·      Participation points for utilizing your time wisely in the library when the class goes to do research.

·      You will also receive participation points for paying attention to other members of the committee as they present their mathematicians in class.

Presentation:

 

Short presentation in class covering something interesting about your mathematician and presenting your baseball card.  This presentation in not to be read straight from your paper.  You may use note cards or other props if you choose but you may NOT use your paper.
