Introduction: Today you will have the opportunity to learn the importance of physical education as a part of your daily schooling. Using the internet you will follow the tasks outlined below to answer questions and gather facts about being in shape, and the importance of physical activity.

Task: As we all know PE is your favorite class in school. You have heard that unless proof of the usefullness of this class can be proven it will be cut from the school. As a student who loves to be fit and healthy you find this completely outrageous. Your task is to provide a proposal to the school board about why they should continue to fund Physical Education classes.

Process: You will visit the web sites below and collect data about the importance of everyday physical activity. Below are some questions to help you get started. After collecting your data you will write a 1 to 2 page essay outlining the importance of physical education as part of your everyday curriculum. Advice/Strategies: Writing an essay is a 6 step process.

Step 1. Use the exact language of the question in the first sentence. "High School students should recieve classes in Physical Education as part of their daily curriculum."

Step 2. Follow with the word because. "High school students should recieve physical education as part of their daily curriculum because.... "

Step 3. Add your reasons from the websites after because. That is your thesis statement.

Step 4. The next paragraph should outline your first reason supported by the facts and data obtained from the websites you visit

Step 5.Your next paragraphs should do the same for your other reasons listed. One paragraph for each reason mentioned.

Step 6. Conclusion. This restates your point in different words, summarizes your main points.
