Your rich uncle has heard that you have recently become interested in computers.  He has told you that for your high school graduation gift, he will buy you a new computer.  You tell your uncle that you would prefer to build your own computer from scratch.  He agrees and says that the only requirement is that you spend time researching about the various computer components and come up with the best computer you can buy for your money.  If you do this research, he has told you that he will finance up to $1500 for your new computer.

For this activity, you will be given the opportunity to research into how a computer works.  You will learn more about the Central Processing Unit (CPU), motherboard, memory (RAM), hard drive and much more.  In addition to this, you will be given the opportunity to physically build a computer from scratch.
