More or less, you should go throught the following process:

  1. Go to the resources page and read a bit about E.B. White, his life and accomplishments
  2. Then, from that same page read "Around the Corner" by E.B. White and "Once More to the Lake" by E.B. White.
  3. Think about following questions, keeping in mind the ultimate task of writing your own essay:
    • What does Mr. White write about?
    • What is his writing style like?
    • Is he funny?
    • How is he able to be funny?
    • Did the essays you read each have a theme?
    • How did he get express that theme?
    • Did he use any personal experience?
    • How much and to what effect?
    • Did you like his essays? Why?
    • What can you do to make your essay likable, not only to others, but also to yourself?
