Target Audience: Educators who wish to use Photoshop to edit and enhance photos they've taken with their digital cameras, or scanned on a flatbed scanner. The session will help all users, from beginning to advanced. The first part of the session will cover basic photo editing techniques. The last part of the session will give attendees the opportunity to ask questions and have them answered. You are encouraged to bring a laptop computer if you have one. You can install a trial version of Photoshop from the Adobe website if you don't have a copy.

Objectives:

  • Use the various methods of selecting in Photoshop, including rectangular and eliptical marquee tools, polygonal lasso tool, quickmask mode, magic wand tool, and the extract filter.
  • Use the redeye tool to remove photographic red eye reflections.
  • Use the Dust and Scratches filter to remove small blemishes
  • Use the Healing Brush tool to remove blemishes from photos.
  • Use the levels dialog box to adjust color and value in a photo.
  • Use various other Image-Adjustment tools to enhance a photo.
